FALL SOCCER – September 21, 2012

AS DARKNESS FALLS – For the last 2 weeks of games, starting Monday, Sept 24th, we are going to move ALL the game times up 15 mins.  ALL U8-U12 GAMES WILL START 15 minutes earlier than the posted time.  It is getting too dark for late games to finish up.  Please mark your game schedules accordingly. Thanks for your help!

FUN PASTA – Sales run Oct 1st – Oct 15th.  Fundraising packets will be handed out to ALL U6 – U12 players Sept 25th and Sept 27th and U6 on Sept 29th at the soccer fields.  U13+ players, pick your packets up at the concession standt.  IF every player sells 6 items, the take home profit for the program is $5,000.  Last year we met our $5,000 sales goal with a take home profit of $2,500 for our first time at this event with only 39 sellers and 12 on-line sales.  It is simple and FUN!  We will do LESS little fundraisers if we can make this one our BIG one each fall.  Neat ideas for holiday gift giving as a healthy food item. It works great for family and friends that live out of town to help support your soccer players, with direct shipping to their door.  There will be prizes for the Top 5 Sellers.  Funds raised will go toward equipment and training.  Let’s Blow the Top off this Year’s Goal!

IT’S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN – 2 weeks left of fall soccer.  Coaches remember to have players turn in jerseys on the last night of games, along with your equipment bags.

INDOOR SOCCER – Indoor soccer registration will start On-Line Oct 15th – Oct 26th.  Indoor soccer is a fun, fast paced game that contributes to multiple skill sets for players.  Families only attend the tournaments that work in their schedule with weekly practice times from Nov – March.  Registration is $20 per player to cover equipment and gym fees.  If you know someone who isn’t playing fall soccer, pass the word onto them for indoor registration.  Anyone wanting to coach an indoor soccer team this fall MUST note so on the registration sign-up.  Those interested in coaching will have a coaches meeting Monday, Oct 29th at 7pm.  New this winter is the addition of U8 boys and girls skill sessions with a possibility of 1 tournament this winter.  Gym space is limited and practice schedules my change during the season.  Players per division will be contacted for the start of the first practice session before Nov. 1st.

CALLING ALL ALUMNI –We are planning a celebration of CASA's history and high school soccer program. Register as an administrator, ref or high school player at the ALUMNI page. We are in the very early stages of organizing this event in the next couple years. If you or you know someone that has played HS soccer in Pierre, forward the ALUMNI PAGE to them. Register today!
